Weight Loss

Medical weight loss is a more aggressive approach to losing weight than can be found in most diet books, late night infomercials and even some professional weight loss programs. Depending on several variables, medical weight loss may consist of one or more of the following: a low calorie, a regular exercise program, behavior modification techniques, vitamin injections (e.g. B6, B12 shots ), hormones (e.g. hCG), weight loss medication and appetite suppressants (e.g. phentermine). Make no mistake, proper diet and exercise are a critical component of any successful weight loss program, but when combined with medication, and a supervised, well-structured program, patients tend to reach their goals quicker than they had ever thought possible losing as much as a pound per day. |

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Medical Weight Loss The HCG diet is a comprehensive weight loss program utilizing the natural fat-burning effects of the HCG hormone found in women during pregnancy. Aside from the complementary B12 shots, the HCG diet doesn’t include any needle injections. Rather, the HCG is delivered via intranasal spray. When combined with a low calorie, high protein diet and a supervised, customized regimen, the pounds just melt off.
The HCG hormone is found in significant quantities in pregnant woman, which is why pregnant women tend to lose weight during their first trimester. The release of this hormone tells the body to enter a hypermetabolic state, extracting energy from stored fat reserves in order to feed the growing fetus. This same fat-burning benefit works its magic on non-pregnant woman and men alike, with men typically losing even more weight than women. It is not uncommon to lose a half pound to a whole pound a day while on this remarkable diet. |

Phentermine Phentermine is a highly effective, short-term weight loss drug that targets the central nervous system to reduce hunger and, to a lesser degree, break down stored fat deposits. In one clinical study, those taking Phentermine lost an average of over 16 pounds more than those taking a placebo. This effectiveness and its relative safety have enabled Phentermine to be FDA approved as an appetite suppressant for the treatment of obesity for over 50 years. As with all diet drugs, it is most effective when combined with diet, exercise and behavior modification techniques. |
